Jowar Vermicelli Payasam Recipe: A Healthy Twist on a Classic Dessert

Payasam, a popular dessert in India, is typically made with rice vermicelli and loaded with sugar and ghee. While delicious, it’s not exactly the healthiest option. That’s why we’ve come up with a healthier twist on this classic dish using Jowar Vermicelli, a nutritious alternative to rice vermicelli.

Jowar Vermicelli is a great source of dietary fibre, protein, and essential minerals such as iron and magnesium. It’s also gluten-free, making it a perfect option for those with gluten intolerance. By swapping rice vermicelli with Jowar Vermicelli, we’ve made this dessert much healthier while retaining its delicious taste.

In this blog post, we’ll show you how to make Jowar Vermicelli Payasam step by step, using organic ingredients from our range of products. Let’s get started!

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of Desi Ghee
  • Assorted chopped dried fruits and nuts (Almonds, cashews, raisins, etc.)
  • 1 cup Jowar Vermicelli
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cups boiled milk

Instructions:

Step 1: In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of Desi Ghee and add the chopped dried fruits and nuts. Roast until they turn golden brown. This will give your Payasam a rich, nutty flavour.

Step 2: In the same pan, add 2 more tablespoons of Desi Ghee and roast the Jowar Vermicelli until it turns light brown. This will enhance its flavour and texture.

Step 3: Add brown sugar to the vermicelli and stir to mix well. This will give the Payasam a sweet and rich taste.

Step 4: Pour in the boiled milk and stir until the mixture thickens. Cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes. Keep stirring occasionally to prevent the Payasam from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

We hope you enjoy this simple yet delicious Jowar Vermicelli Payasam recipe. It’s a perfect dessert for any occasion, and it’s easy to make with our organic Jowar Vermicelli. Stay tuned for more healthy and delicious recipes using our range of organic products!
